Welcome all participants and guest speakers. I cannot express how happy I am to create this video conferencing interactive event. For many years, I have struggled with the alone concept of writing and managing my self-guided projects. The yearning for formal education in subjects of Writing, Social Media and Public Speaking has been a lasting desire.
The Limits of One-Sided Learning
It dawned on me that many people have ambitions for their lives and struggle to grasp the skills, process to start, gain a team to participate and build goals from there. I’ve watched instruction videos from YouTube, Lynda.com, Udemy.com—utilizing the information for my projects—but ultimately found a lack of satisfaction with the process being one-sided. I could not ask questions. I could not interact with other people signed up for the site.
Years ago, the commercial ads on YouTube advertised Master Class hosted by celebrities in any profession. My focus was to learn Writing, Screenwriting, Plot and Theory. As fascinating as these classes were, the full class costs hundreds of dollars for full class segments versus video clips. It would be a profound honor to learn through the process of authenticity from notable instructors and benefit from industry experience. But again, the cost. How committed am I to any of this?
